Money Saving Wedding Ideas
TheWahmConnection.com© All Rights Reserved. With all of the talk of the Royal Wedding, we thought this might be a good time to share some money saving tips when it comes to getting married! A wedding is something a girl dreams about her entire life. It is one of the happiest days in her life! Saying "I do" and making that commitment to love one another for the rest of your life, is a moment you want to share with all of your family and friends. We are here to tell you that you do not have to go broke to have the wedding that you truly want! We all know just how expensive weddings can be. When breaking it down, you are looking at the cost of the wedding dress, the invitations, decorations for the church and the reception, the rings, the flowers, the cake, and so much more. The list really can go on and on, and let's face it, this can cost a small fortune. As you begin your new life together, you will want to save as much money as you can so that you can look into things like buying your first home together after the wedding. When we talk about "saving money" we are not talking about cheap or tacky decorations. It's important to know that you do not have to spend full price for everything you want for your wedding day. With the right planning, you can still have a beautiful wedding and make it look like you spent a fortune, even though you know that you didn't. Let's look at a few tips that may send you in the right direction. Wedding invitations are something you'll want to begin looking at right away after you have decided to get married. If you've had time to take a look at some invitations, you know that this can be a very expensive part of the wedding. Why pay someone else all of this money to have them printed for you? You can use a wedding invitation program from Microsoft Word templates, or there are several card programs you can use as well. Simply visit an office supply store, or perhaps a stationary or party supply store to get the paper of your choice in the colors that you plan on using for your wedding theme. Be creative. You can use a wedding invitation book to give you ideas on the style you want and then you can work on creating your own. You can use stencils to add to the design if you'd like and even tissue paper to separate the invitations from your RSVP cards. There are many options available to you. So don't settle on the first thing you see. Take some time to look around, and perhaps even check some books out from the library as well. Of course decorations are one of the biggest expenses of planning a wedding. You'll first want to decide on how you want to decorate for your wedding and reception and then take some time to look for ways that you can save on these decorations. You'll want to spend the money on the gifts or keepsakes for the guests but try to keep everything else as inexpensive as possible. You can actually purchase very pretty decorative vases for the tables at your local dollar store, and use artificial flowers for them that are the same colors as your wedding theme. For the head tables you may decide to go with fresh flowers. If it is the right season and carnations are able to be used, these are perfect because they can be painted to match your wedding colors and they are inexpensive. Another idea is to use colored water in clear vases and use white flowers instead of colored ones. The white flowers will soak up the color through their stems. You will be the most beautiful person at the wedding, and you know that all eyes will be on you. You will want the most beautiful dress for your special day, and you can have just that! Take some time and begin to attend wedding shows and be sure to stop at the discount boutiques as well as wedding dress outlets. You will also find that some of the stores offer money saving deals on accessories when you purchase your wedding dress from them. Look at all options. Trying to decide on the foods can be very stressful. But what can even be more stressful are the costs that you can incur. If you are having a wedding near the evening, you may want to consider just some finger foods and heavy hors d'oeuvres. However, if you are looking at a full meal for your guests, you may want to look at family members who love to cook and can do the job for you as a wedding gift. When planning a wedding, using ideas like these can help save you some money, while still having the wedding that you've always dreamed of!
