Planning Successful Direct Sales Parties

The results of your party with regards to garnering new business contacts and promoting sales is directly related to the amount of advance preparation that you do. If you are not hosting the party in your home then it is absolutely essential that you stay in constant contact with the hostess to make sure that there are no unexpected changes in plans or last minute issues that need to be worked out. Building expectation for the party with the hostess as well as with the guests is a good way to ensure that the party results in healthy sales. Most people decide to host a direct sales party because of the freebies, perks, and credits that they will receive. In order to maximize the opportunity it is important to have as many people in attendance at the party as possible. Encourage the hostess to invite friends, family, and coworkers to the party, and coach the hostess on how to invite people so that instead of feeling overly pressured they are persuasively encouraged to attend. A list of the guests along with their contact information is very useful for later follow-ups, so set a specific date when you would like that information from the hostess. Confirming guests before the party allows to introduce yourself in advance and is another opportunity to build anticipation for the party. After the confirmation process is complete it is important to let the host know that you called and confirmed the guests; it is also a nice touch of appreciation to send a thank you note to the hostess in advance of the party. When it comes time for the actual party it is important to arrive early so that you have adequate time to set up for the party. If possible the set up should be done along with the hostess; this shows respect for the hostess' home and allows an opportunity to find out about which guests will be most likely to take advantage of the direct sales opportunity being presented. There are very few direct sales party that do not benefit from feeding attendees, especially if the direct sales opportunity involves something related to the kitchen in the first place. Allow guests time to get to know the other attendees before getting the party started; this sets the tone for a receptive audience once your presentation actually begins. Sales are important, but attendees need to feel that you care whether or not they get the products you need. More importantly they need to know that you want them to have a good time whether you buy something or not. A big key to ensuring a successful direct sales party is that you do not make the attendees feel like marks. With the appropriate amount of advance planning, coordination with the hostess, personal attention to the guests, and proper follow you can make every direct sales party that you have an overwhelming success.
